19 PKK Militant Killed in Clashes with Turkish Army


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Ankara, July 09 (QNA) - A total of 19 PKK militants died in separate clashes in eastern and southeastern Turkey, the country''s military said on Saturday.
The Turkish General Staff issued a statement saying 17 PKK militants were killed in a Friday clash with security forces in the Semdinli district of Hakkari province.
Weapons and ammunition were seized, the statement said adding that two PKK militants were killed in Baskale town of eastern Van in a separate clash.
The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and the European Union. (QNA)

Car Bomb Blast Kills 3 in Southeast Turkey
Ankara, July 09 (QNA) - Three people have died and seven others, including civilians, have been injured in a bomb blast in Mardin, southeast Turkey, local authorities said on Saturday.
Mardin governorship said in a statement that two Turkish soldiers were martyred and one female civilian was killed when a PKK car bomb exploded at Cevizlik gendarmerie station.
Seven people were injured – three critically – in the attack, the statement said according to Turkey''s Anadolu Agency. (QNA)
