Salman Khan's Sultan gets thumbs up from fans in Oman

Salman Khan starrer, Sultan which released on Wednesday has received a thumbs up from fans in Oman. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the bollywood film, which has stormed the box-office in India is also running into packed theatres in Oman.

But many fans in Oman who couldn''t watch the blockbuster said they were upset as the tickets for the shows were sold out.

''It is really frustrating as I have been trying to get tickets for the past three days. I am a big fan of Salman Khan and have never missed his Eid releases since Dabangg,'' said Bangladeshi national, Rabi Uslam.

The film, which also stars Anushka Sharma and Randeep Hooda, has been running houseful since its release.

An official from VOX Cinemas said, ''Salman Khan movies are very popular, especially the ones released during Eid. We also had advance bookings for most shows. People of diverse nationalities have been watching the film every day.''

An official from City Cinema said that their theatres not just in Muscat but Sohar, Sur and Salalah too were packed to capacity. ''Our halls in Sohar, Sur and Salalah too are packed until today [Saturday]. I think it is the biggest blockbuster of the year until now.''

Vinit Bhujwala, an auditor at a private firm in Muscat said, ''My wife is a big fan of Salman Khan, so we had to watch the film. It is an entertaining film with some amazing performances. The story is engaging, and the dialogues are quite witty, however the songs are not that peppy.''

An ardent Khan fan, Santosh Kumar watched the film twice. ''I don''t care about the controversies as I believe Salman is not just a good actor but a good human being and that reflects clearly in his films. The movie was not only funny but an inspiring one. It could have been crisper though. The songs are not that great like the ones in his previous blockbusters like Bajrangi Bhaijaan.''
