MoCI warns against altering traditional Omani attire

In a bid to preserve the country''s traditions, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has issued a warning to those trying to tamper with the sultanate''s traditional attire.

The statement from the ministry urges commercial establishments involved in the production of traditional Omani costumes to retain the originality of the designs and patterns. It also stated that MoCI will conduct regular inspections to ensure that companies are following the required specifications.

The MoCI is also trying to track those who are circulating photographs of altered kummas and dishdashas on social media platforms. The ministry has sought help from the public to report about stores, websites or electronic channels that are promoting altered Omani costumes.
