Ireland House launches higher education courses

Located in the Jabal Shams building at Airport Heights, Ghala, Ireland House will provide access to excellence in education in Oman and Ireland.

The training institute has partnered with over 25 top-quality colleges, universities and institutes in Ireland, including the UCD School of Medicine, the Institute of Technology Tralee and LIT.

The higher education partners offer a broad range of degree programmes in business, engineering, medicine, information technology and other fields.

For those interested in business or engineering, Ireland House provides an opportunity to get direct entry into degree programmes in Ireland by completing a one-year international academic programme (IAP) in business or engineering.

The year-long foundation programme provides an introduction to business or engineering and may help improve English IELTS scores to at least 5.5.

Choosing to do the IAP in business or engineering will cost about RO750 less per month compared with if the same programme was undertaken in Ireland. The IAP in business and engineering will start in September this year. Registration for the same is open.

From July 17 to August 4, a summer school programme will be conducted for three weeks at a Ramadan discount rate of RO180 for 60 hours of English language development with creative projects in arts, culture and sport.

Students will be grouped into three levels: elementary, pre-intermediate and intermediate. These classes will be based on exciting topics such as the history of art in the Middle East, software programming, crowd-funding business projects, driverless cars and what makes people champions in sport. Ireland House welcomes students above the age of 13 years.

Ireland House consists of a team of qualified trainers, native English speakers and they believe that language learning should be combined with cross-disciplinary content.
