Kuwait- Ten women migrants die off Libyan coast
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ROME, June 30 (KUNA) -- At least ten women died in a sinking boat packed with migrants in the Channel of Sicily off the coast of Libya on Thursday, Italy''s coast guard announced.
The Italian coast guard arrived at the scene of Thursday''s sinking 20 miles off Libya, after a distress signal was received at its Rome headquarters, the statement added.
The coast guard ship Diciotti rescued 107 people from the same boat, said the statement, adding that the boat had taken on so much water that it was about to sink. (end) mn.haq
