Dhaka : NRB Bank Limited, leading new generation financial institution of the country holds their 3rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 26 at Eden Ball Room of Hotel Amari, Dhaka. Iqbal Ahmed OBE, Chairman of the Bank presided over the meeting.
The audited financial statements of the Bank for the year ended on December 31, 2015 were presented by the Chairman before the AGM. Sponsor Shareholders discussed various aspects of performance of the Bank during last year and expressed their satisfaction with the overall performance.
The AGM was attended among others by NRB Bank Vice Chairman Mohammed Mahtabur Rahman (Nasir), Chairman of Executive Committee Dato'' Engr. Md. Ekramul Haque, Chairman of Risk Management Committee Engr. Abu Taher Mohammed Amanullah, other Members of the Board of Directors, Sponsor Shareholders, Managing Director and CEO (In-Charge) Zeeshan Hasib, Adviser to the Board of Directors Iqbal U Ahmed and Members of Management Committee.
Mahtabur Rahman, new Chairman of NRB Bank
Mohammed Mahtabur Rahman (Nasir) has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of NRB Bank Limited in its 39th Board meeting held on June 27. Prior to his new role, he was the Vice Chairman of the Bank.
After completing his education, Mahtabur Rahman started his business career with his family owned business in the city of Makkah under the name ''Al Haramain Perfumes'', in 1970. He is currently the Chairman and Managing Director of the Al Haramain Perfumes Group of Companies. The company presently has over 100 branches in UAE/GCC countries and beyond under various names (Al Haramain Perfumes, Al Haramain Trading L.L.C, Oudh Al Haramain, Noor Al Haramain Trading L.L.C and Al Halal Perfumes Industry L.L.C). He is thefounder President of Bangladesh Business Council in Dubai and also the sponsor of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Bangladesh Islamia (Pvt) School in Abu Dhabi.
Mahtabur Rahman is the Chairman of Hamidia Tea Co Ltd and Al Haramain Hospital Pvt Ltd in Bangladesh. He is the Sponsor of Al Arafah Islami Bank Ltd and Director of AIBL Capital Market Services Ltd in Bangladesh. He is also the Trustee of the University of Asia Pacific and Beani Bazar Cancer Hospital.
Mahtabur Rahman was ranked Commercially Important Person (CIP) for the 3 consecutive years (2012-13, 2013-14 & 2014-15) by the Government of Bangladesh. He was also awarded the prestigious ''Bangladesh Bank Remittance Award'' consecutively for 2 years (2013 and 2014) in recognition of his highest remittance into Bangladesh.
