Oman- Oil prices for July announced

The Ministry of Oil and Gas announced the revised fuel prices effective July 1.

The super grade petrol will cost 180 baisas per litre, 170 baisas for regular grade petrol and 188 baisas for diesel per litre, according to the Ministry of Oil and Gas post on Twitter.

There has only been a marginal increase in the diesel prices from the June rates, the rest remain unchanged. Here are the June rates: M95 (super) 180bz per litre, M90 (regular) 170bz per litre while diesel was 185bz per litre.

Since January, the price of M95 has gone up by 50 per cent (from 120bz to 180bz), M90 by 49 per cent (114bz to 170bz) and diesel by 27 per cent (from 146bz to 185bz).

In May, the price of M90 was 149bz per litre, M95 was 161bz and diesel was 166bz.

The ministry deregulated oil prices this January and revised them from January 15, and has been announcing prices for every month since then.

The prices will be standard at all filling stations across Oman. The Public Authority for Consumer Protection will ensure that all filling stations comply with the rates announced.
