McDonald's Qatar and QRC launch new initiative

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Children put QR1 in one of the donation boxes placed by McDonald’s Qatar and QRC as part of an initiative launched to support children.
Doha: McDonald’s Qatar, the leading food service company in the local market, and as part of the continuous commitment to the local community, has recently collaborated with Qatar Red Crescent (QRC), one of Qatar’s leading organisation in international disaster relief and humanitarian development, to pledge a new initiative in the local market, “QR1 Donate Campaign”.
The campaign aims to support children, especially those suffering from severe diseases such as diabetes;heart conditions, etc, and will provide them with the related medical tools.
The “QR1 Donate Campaign”, which putsemphasis on social responsibility and the public interest, will run for three months, from June-August 2016 and will reach out to the children and young people whose life cycle is disturbed by illness.
To further instigate the essence of generosity and to support the charity drive, McDonald’s 36 outlets in Qatar are displaying a donation boxes and will encourage the community and its customers to voluntarily donate QR1. McDonald’s aims to engage the customers in the campaign, and thus, revealing thatwith their donations even being as simple as QR1 ,will make a big difference in saving a child’s life. Mr. Kamal Saleh Al Mana, Managing Director of Al Mana Restaurants & Food Co, said: “We are proud to collaborate with Qatar Red Crescent in this humanitarian cause, and we have full trust that our customers will support us with our initiative. At McDonald’s Qatar and in our own humble ways, we anticipate to make difference and help support grander causes anywhere we can. We have supported various local philanthropic initiatives and community outreach programmes, but with QR1 campaign we hope to spread out the message to all people in Qatar that your minimumdonation will have a huge impact on someone else’s life.”
With the collected donations at the end of the campaign, McDonald’s Qatar will hand-overthe amount raised to the Qatar Red Crescent Society to help the children with special medical needs.
