FM, Egyptian counterpart discuss ties, region


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, June 29 (Petra)-- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs, Nasser Judeh, on Wednesday evening, discussed with his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry, bilateral relations and developments in the Middle East.

During the meeting, the two minsters said relations between the two countries run deep in various fields, stressing keenness on continued coordination, consultation and cooperation on various issues.

They also discussed efforts to push forward the peace process, and reviewed international efforts to counter terrorism and extremism, which threaten international peace and security.

The meeting tackled latest developments in Syria, Iraq, Libya and Yemen, as the two ministers stressed the importance of finding political solutions in these countries.

Shoukry stressed the importance of Jordan''s pivotal role, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, in achieving security and stability in the region and its role in the fight against terrorism and extremism, expressing Egypt''s support for this important role.
