Amman, June 29 (Petra)-- His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Wednesday, stressed the importance of the Economic Policy Council in enhancing the relationship between the public and the private sectors, through working in a serious and transparent manner in developing economic policies.
Chairing the council''s first meeting after its formation earlier this week, His Majesty said: "The time factor will work against us if we slowed down and didn''t benefit from available opportunities, and therefore stalling should be avoided and solutions must be found, without agendas but serving the citizen and addressing poverty and unemployment , which is the interest of everyone who cares about the nation."
King Abdullah added: "I will not accept any obstacles to be put in front of our economic march and our chances of economic growth and serving citizens."
The King also pledged support for the Economic Policy Council and for the government in their work to achieve the desired success.
Members of the Economic Policy Council stressed the importance of developing the private sector to provide needed jobs, saying that it isn''t the public sector job only to find a solution to unemployment.
