New York forecasts record tourist arrivals in 2016

(MENAFN) A total of 59.7 million tourists are projected to visit New York City throughout the current year, thus surpassing the previous year's record of 58.3 million visitors by 2.4 percent, according to the latest reports.

In spite disorder in many places, a slowing economy in China and a strengthening American dollar that weakens the buying power of foreigners, visitors have kept flowing into New York from around the country and the rest of the world.

Nearly 920,000 visitors from China are anticipated this year, a rise of 8.2 percent from the initial forecast of almost 850,000 in 2015, plus China is the 4th-largest source of abroad visitors to the city, after England, Canada and Brazil.

However, the excessively increased tourism has made for some very crowded parts of the big apple, which is why there is currently an extensive emphasis from authorities and travel agencies on getting tourists to explore other boroughs.
