Egypt's exports to increase by USD1.9bn


(MENAFN) Egyptian exports accounted to USD1.9bn in May 2016, compared to USD1.7bn at the same time of 2015.

However, the country's imports dropped to record USD1.9bn in April, bringing the whole imports from the beginning of the year until the end of April to USD18bn.

Meanwhile, many sectors viewed an improvement, involving construction materials, which grew its exports from USD302mn in May 2015 to USD489mn this year.

In addition, furniture exports also recorded a notable increase of 9 percent, after a growth in the value of its products shipped abroad from USD33mn to USD36mn.
