ISM takes part in Environment Day conferences organised in Dubai

In view of the World Environment Day (WED), ''Green Hope'' UAE recently organised a two-day conference at Apple International School, Dubai for the Indian Schools of the GCC.

This conference was initiated to bring about an awareness of our environment as our planet''s biodiversity is under tremendous strain with hundreds of species becoming extinct every year. Children and youth, the future generations need to be inspired and mobilised to stop the desecration of our planet''s flora and fauna. The theme for WED was ''Go Wild for Life.''

Ten students and three teachers from Indian School Muscat attended the two conferences in which the students participated in a wide range of activities with great vigour, featuring their hunger to strive for perfection.

The students participated in activities such as public speaking; paint a slogan, eco commercial competition and enviro quiz.

D V L S Pranathi of class VIII E bagged the first position in public speaking. The proud winners of paint a slogan were Prem Rajeev of class VIII L, Akansha Ranjan of class VIII E and Rishabh Jha of class, VIII F. Faris Abdul Nasser of class VIII D won the first place in the eco commercial competition.
