Oman- Real estate sector grows 244.3% in April

The sultanate''s real estate sector registered a significant growth by the end of April with total traded value posting a 244.3 per cent increase over the same period last year.

According to statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the fees collected from transactions related to real estate dealings touched RO25.1mn by the end of April, as against RO16.1mn in the same period last year.

The value of sales contracts declined by 3.5 per cent at RO378mn. However, the number of sales contracts declined by 5.8 per cent to 26,883. Barter contracts saw a fall of 40.9 per cent at RO277mn. Though there has been a three per cent increase in the number of registered properties at 87,489, a decline of 30 per cent was reported in properties issued to GCC citizens.
