(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) PARIS, June 28 (KUNA) - French technical experts investigating the May 19th crash of an Egyptair Airbus A320 said in a statement Tuesday that they are starting work to repair the second "black box" recorder recovered from the Mediterranean and which should help explain the crash.

The Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis (BEA) said that the first "black box" - a data recorder of the flight - has already been repaired and they were now moving on the the second device - the cockpit voice recorder.

"Repair operations for the phonic voice recorder (Cockpit Voice Recorder) are starting this morning," a statement said.

The Egyptair plane went down at sea over 200 km from the Egyptian coast after the aircraft suddenly lost height and started to veer sharply.

All 66 passengers and crew - the majority of them Egyptian - died in the crash, which investigators now hope to be able to explain. (end) jk.nfm
