France, UK team up to develop ambitious UAV model


(MENAFN) Britain and France will team up to develop and build a prototype of a next-generation unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), the Future Combat Air System.

Accordingly, the Future Combat Air System scheme will offer both nations the most advanced vehicle of its kind in Europe, securing high-end engineering jobs.

UK firms, including BAE Systems, Space Systems Division and Dassault Aviation, SNECMA/Safran and Thales in France are anticipated to benefit from the project.

The two European powers have also secured a deal consisting of France buying Brimstone missiles from UK for its next version of the Tiger Combat helicopter.
