Suicide blasts targeting civilians NE Lebanon


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT, June 27 (KUNA) -- Several explosions took place in Qaa town of Beqaa Governorate, northeastern Lebanon, near the Syrian borders, official media reported Monday.

Suicide bombers targeted residential areas and public gatherings in central Qaa, where sounds of heavy blast were heard by the locals, according to National News Agency (NNA).

Four suicide bombers blew themselves up in the vicinity of a church in Qaa village, killing five civilians and wounding a number of people, including four military men.

So far, five explosions have occurred, Bachir Matar, head of Qaa municipality, said, describing the situation as "extremely dangerous." (end) wsm.ma
