UAE- 5 dead in accidents during Ramadan


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Maritime and land rescue teams of Dubai Police have handled nine cases during the first 15 days of the holy month of Ramadan, a top official said.

Four died as the victims were trapped under cars, and the fifth died in a maritime accident.

He noted that Dubai Police rescue teams are ready to deal with emergencies 24 hours a day.

He said that the police has achieved a seven to eight minute response time, exceeding the targeted response time of 12 minutes.

Last year rescue teams attended 24,865 accidents, including the rescue of people who were injured or trapped in cars and on elevators.
