Doosan Heavy to build USD185m purification plant for Iran

(MENAFN) Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co., South Korea's top power equipment maker, bagged a whopping USD185 million deal to build a desalination plant.

Under the pact with the Iran-based Sazeh Sazan, Doosan Heavy will construct the facility by October-2018, plus it'll also do operating and maintenance work for 12 years.

Moreover, Doosan Heavy's agreement marks the first for a desalination plant in the Islamic Republic after international sanctions on it were removed earlier this year.

In detail, the latest data revealed that the major facility will basically process 200,000 tons of sea water into fresh water a day, which is enough for 670,000 people.
