London, Ramadan 22, 1437, June 27, 2016, SPA -- At least 11 people, including nine children, were injured after a roller coaster car derailed and plunged some 10 metres onto another ride at a theme park in Scotland, police and local media said, according to dpa.
Witnesses said a car fell from the Tsunami roller coaster at M&D''s theme park in the town of Motherwell, the Scottish Daily Record newspaper said.
All individuals injured during the accident were taken to hospital, police said.
The theme park calls the Tsunami "Scotland''s only inverted roller coaster" and says it moves "at speeds of up to 65 kilometres per hour through corkscrew twists, turns and loops." The car, which witnesses said had about 10 people on board, flew off the track at a corner and landed on top of a children''s ride, "leaving casualties trapped in the wreckage," the newspaper said.
