Qatar- Health monitors close two food outlets in Industrial Area

DOHA: The Health Monitoring Section at Doha Municipality has shut down a food outlet in Industrial area for ten days, for selling food not suitable for human consumption and another restaurant in the same area for 15 days for preparing food in unhealthy conditions.

The outlets were closed due to intensified inspection campaigns during Ramadan and its keenness on food safety and curb violations.

Al Khor and Dhekra Municipality also conducted inspection drives against violators, and closed down a restaurant for not compliance with health conditions. It also closed a food outlet working without permit in new Industrial area in Al Khor. Al Rayyan Municipality also conduced 95 inspection campaigns and caught a number of different violations, among it was registering and removing 37 abandoned vehicles, and the amount fine collected was QR 13,200.

Meanwhile, the Doha Municipality has issued 797 building permits, Construction Completion Certificates, maintenance permits, demolition permits and others in May. The Customer Service Office at the Municipality has received 193 complaints through social media, newspapers and radio programmes.The Peninsula
