FM, UN Chief discuss bilateral ties, Yemeni file
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, June 26 (KUNA) -- First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah discussed on Sunday with visiting Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon Kuwait''s ties with the UN and the latest developments on intra-Yemeni talks being hosted by Kuwait.
During the meeting which was attended by the special envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, the Kuwaiti Minister extolled Ban Ki-moon''s efforts on at regional and international levels, and his support for security and stability in the region to meet challenges at all levels.
For his part, the UN Secretary General emphasized the important role played by Kuwait at the international level.
He also praised the prominent contributions of Kuwait in support of the United Nations'' humanitarian and development work and activities around the world.
The meeting was attended by a number of senior Foreign Ministry officials. (end) tg
