UAE- Ajman Chamber organises 4th diplomatic forum and discusses economic cooperation

AJMAN, 26th June, 2016 (WAM) -- The Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ACCI, organised the 4th edition of its annual Ramadan Diplomatic Forum aimed at enhancing economic cooperation and trade exchange.

A number of ambassadors, consuls-general and representatives of business offices from different Arab and other countries attended the forum held at the Asateer Tent, Atlantis The Palm, in Dubai.

Mohammed Ali Al Janahi, Acting Director-General of Ajman Chamber and Naser Al Dhafri, Executive Director of Planning and Members Support Sector, along with a number of the Chamber''s employees, representatives of government departments and businessmen, received the guests.

Al Janahi stressed Ajman Chamber''s keenness to organise the annual forum that is aimed at strengthening direct and effective communication with all Arab and foreign countries. It generally seeks to promote the opportunities available in Ajman and attract more investment, as well as shedding light on major economic exhibitions and events organised in the emirate. Additionally, it seeks to generate economic agreements and partnerships. He explained that the forum contributes to supporting participation in international economic exhibitions and encouraging foreign delegations to take part in the emirate''s events.

He praised the direct support of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, and the constant follow-up of Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, to back the economic environment and investment opportunities in Ajman.

Al Janahi also said that he appreciated efforts of all economic departments in Ajman to provide all kinds of support to businessmen.

He explained that membership of the ACCI during 2015 reached 33,000, and there are 762 factories owned by the emirate. The metal products and machinery equipment sectors have the largest share of exports by 17 percent, followed by the food sector with about 15 percent.

Naser Al Dhafri hailed the role played by the Board of Directors of ACCI and the constant striving to enhance the chamber''s partnership with all countries. It is keen on exchange visits with business offices and economic delegations to discuss economic cooperation aiming to open new markets and attract investment from all over the world, he added.

Al Dhafri also noted that the forum seeks to highlight the advantages and help provided by the government of Ajman for investors, as well as the various economic possibilities. It enjoys an integrated infrastructure and flexible legislative system that collectively ensure achieving the government''s strategic goals for 2021.

He praised the services available in the emirate, as well as the conditions harnessed to ensure growth of the economic sector. All the emirate''s economic entities cooperate with each other to provide support for businesspeople and entrepreneurs to ensure promotion of their business and investment, he added.

Marawan Hareb, Head of Business Development, ACCI, said that the chamber adopts annual plans, including exchange visits and participation in several economic exhibitions and events. It receives high-level official economic delegations to strengthen cooperation and serve all parties, as well as opening multiple economic channels of communication, especially in light of the facilities provided by the Government of Ajman to support the local economy and investors.

He also stressed the importance of the diplomatic forum in highlighting important industrial sectors in Ajman and discuss the opening of new markets for its products. This, he said, translates the strategic goals of the ACCI and meets the aspirations of the business community.
