UAE- FNC Speaker receives Uruguay's ambassador

ABU DHABI, 25th June 2016 (WAM) --- Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council (FNC) of the UAE, today received Nelson Yemil Chaben Labadie, Ambassador of Uruguay to the UAE, to discuss ways of strengthening cooperation and relations between the two countries in various areas.

The pair also agreed of the importance of establishing a UAE-Uruguay parliamentary friendship committee to promoted relations between the FNC and the General Assembly of Uruguay (parliament) Al Qubaisi noted that the FNC, through parliamentary diplomacy, takes great interest in enhancing relations with members of the Latin American and Caribbean Group (GRULAC), the largest group at the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

On his part, Ambassador of Uruguay noted that renewable energy was one of the potential avenues of stronger relations with the UAE.

Additionally, he invited Al Qubaisi to visit Uruguay''s parliament.
