Alfardan Group holds annual Iftar charity event

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Alfardan Group recently hosted 130 people from underprivileged families during its annual Iftar charity event at Sawa Restaurant, Marsa Malaz Kempinski, the Pearl-Doha.
The humanitarian activity held in collaboration with Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) “not only reflects the Group’s unwavering commitment” to social responsibility but also helps put the spotlight on the charitable organisation’s important cause and mission, Alfardan Group has said in a statement.
Embracing the spirit of the holy month, representatives from the Group welcomed the guests, who included 85 children and their families currently under the care of QRCS.
The families experienced an evening of hospitality while enjoying a wide array of Arabic dishes made specially for the occasion by the hotel’s team of culinary experts.
Omar Alfardan, president and CEO of Alfardan Group, said: “Our continuous collaboration with Qatar Red Crescent Society for another successful Iftar charity activity this year is a testament of our sincere efforts to contribute to Qatar’s overall social development. At Alfardan Group, we support and initiate various humanitarian activities in partnership with leading charitable organisations at the regional and global levels.
“We praise Qatar Red Crescent Society for its noble undertakings developed to help families under their care and appreciate their diligent efforts to ensure our children’s welfare.”
The Iftar charity dinner is one of the many CSR activities organised, sponsored and initiated by the Group, which “consistently supports humanitarian causes, social and human development initiatives, and healthcare and education assistance programmes for the underprivileged, to name a few”, the statement noted.
Fahad bin Mohamed al-Naimi, executive director of QRCS, said: “We commend Alfardan Group for consistently hosting the Iftar event for families under our care. Qatar Red Crescent Society also extends its appreciation to them for their unwavering support for our mission and programmes.”
