Turkey, coalition kill 20 Daesh members in northern Syria


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) At least 20 members of the Daesh terrorist group were killed Thursday in northern Syria during a military operation by the Turkish Armed Forces and the U.S.-led coalition, the Turkish military announced Friday.

Turkish Armed Forces and the coalition hit 34 Daesh targets in three airstrikes, destroying two buildings used by the terror group, according to a statement by the Turkish General Staff.

Daesh was reportedly preparing to attack Turkey from northern Syria, Turkish military said.

Since mid-January, Daesh rockets have been targeting towns and cities in southern Turkey, close to the Syrian border. A total of 21 people, including Syrians who had taken shelter in Turkey, were killed and more than 70 others wounded in such attacks.
