Qatar- Minister issues decision to open 2 new schools


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: The Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Dr Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed Al Hammadi yesterday issued a decision to open two new Independent schools, allocating new buildings, and adding grades for some other schools.

The new schools will open in Al Rayyan Al Jadid and Al Rawda area. Al Kaaban primary school and two schools in Mesaieed Area will be transferred to new buildings in the same areas.

Al Hammadi said the Ministry implements a package of measures aimed at improving the performance of the education system in the area of public and higher education to ensure a high-quality of output that would enhance Qatar’s leadership and competitiveness and contribute to achieving Qatar National Vision .

This came in a speech during the Annual Ramadan Ghabga hosted for the staff of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Al Sharq Hotel during which Independent school principals who have spent 30 years or more in the education service were honoured.

In his speech, the Minister expressed thanks, appreciation and gratitude to all those in charge of education, including the staff of the Ministry, schools, parents and students for their hard work and dedication during this year, emphasising the shared responsibility of all of them.

He also stressed that enhancing the level of academic performance for students and education quality and efficiency is one of the most important strategic objectives that the ministry aims to achieve through the implementation of the ongoing policies, procedures and scientific programmes.
