Gunman attacks cinema in Germany's Mannheim, wounds some


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BELING, June 23 (KUNA) -- A gunman opened fire late Thursday at a cinema near Mannheim city in southern Germany, injuring some people, local media said.
Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung said some police sources confirmed that the gunman, who was carrying many weapons, entered the building where the cinema locates. Some witnesses said the shooting wounded some people, while Bild Newspaper stressed that up to 50 people were injured in the attack.
Earlier today, German police announced that it managed to kill the shooter, who held some hostages. Police didn''t give further information about the attacker and the objectives behind the attack. (end) ang.rg.hm
