ERC sets up 160 Iftar tents around UAE

ABU DHABI, 23rd June, 2016 (WAM) -- The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, has set up 160 Ramadan Iftar tents in various cities around the country in implementation of its Ramadan Iftar Project.

Volunteers from ten ERC branches across the UAE are overseeing the daily distribution of 32,879 Iftar meals in the tents, with a total of 986,370 meals expected to be handed out by the end of the Holy Month.

Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri, Deputy Secretary-General for Local Affairs at the ERC, said that the organisation''s seasonal campaign aims to promote humanitarian responsibilities towards vulnerable segments of society, and achieve solidarity and cohesion among the community.
