Kuwait- OIC condemns attack on Jordanian soldiers on Syrian borders


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) JEDDAH, June 22 (KUNA) -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned on Wednesday the "terrorist attack" which targeted on Tuesday the Ruqban district in Jordan, and killed and wounded some Jordanian soldiers.

In a statement, Secretary General of OIC Iyad Amin Madani stressed organization''s solidarity with Jordan in its war against terrorism which seeks to destabilize the whole region and increase deteriorating humanitarian situations. He underlined the necessity of concerted regional and international efforts to uproot terrorism and extremism which pose a threat to peace and security.

Madani also affirmed OIC''s firm stance rejecting terrorism in its forms and manifestations, expressing his sincere condolences to the victims'' families, and to Joran''s King and people.

On Tuesday, Jordan''s Armed Forces announced in a statement posted on its website that the attack on Ruqban district on Syrian borders targeted a military post, and killed and injured some soldiers. (end) nh.hm
