Saudi- Foiling an attempt to smuggle 2,407,000 amphetamine tablets

Riyadh, 16 Ramadan, 1437,June 21, 2016, SPA -- The Security spokesman of Interior Ministry said that in the framework of preventive efforts to implement the tasks of the security authorities to combat drug trafficking, an attempt was foiled to smuggle more than two million four hundred thousand of narcotic amphetamine tablets through the beaches of Haqel governorate in Tabuk region last Saturday.
The Spokesman pointed out that a suspected boat powered by engine passed Saudi maritime border towards the beaches of Haqel governorate; the boat was intercepted, 2 passengers with no personal identity cards claimed to be Egyptians were arrested, in addition to the seizure of the narcotic tablets, (8) eight kilos and (190) one hundred and ninety grams of opium, and (8) eight kilos and 400 grams of hashish.
