Oman- Letter to the Editor: Help refugees to get back to life

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily)

According to a recent report, published by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the number of refugees in the world is increasing.

It is a shocking revelation that the number of refugees is increasing day by day but there is no clear indication as to when the decades of violence and uncertainty will end.

The increase in the number of refugees simply points to the fact that countless fellow human beings are being forced to leave their homes continuously for no fault of theirs, and the world is still around the negotiation table.

It is quite upsetting to see elders, young women, children and even newborns being subjected to a life of complete uncertainty.
Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan have been the worst hit, mainly due to internal crisis. The civil wars and conflicts have left nothing other than life of common people jeopardised.

The most worrying scenario is the future of children who are key to a strong community.

At the same time even people of African countries are also going through tough times.

Poverty, drought and natural calamities are just some of the factors that have affected their lives.

While political instability in African countries has been there for decades, the incompetent leadership abilities too is a reason for the instability.
While it is unlikely that these ongoing crises will end soon, it is the responsibility of world leaders to help those who are considered as refugees.

Wealthy nations from across the world should come forward and patiently listen to those tagged as refugees forever.
