UAE- Khalifa Foundation continues Iftar Project in Mali

BAMAKO, Mali, 21tst June, 2016 (WAM) -- The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation continues to implement its Iftar Project in the Republic of Mali, which includes organising Iftar banquets in the Islamic Cultural Centre in the capital, Bamako.

The Ramadan programme is carried out with the participation of a number of local officials and social authorities.

A spokesperson at the Khalifa Foundation said that the Ramadan programme is in implementation of the directives of the UAE wise leadership and has made a big impact with those who are fasting in Mali. He added that the project has so far benefited more than two thousand underprivileged people, and that food parcels were distributed to more than a thousand poor families in the city.

The head of the Islamic Cultural Centre expressed his appreciation of the UAE and its leadership for their generous effort, saying that the Khalifa Foundation plays a big role in charity work in Africa, Asia, and other countries around the world.

The beneficiaries praised the UAE for their humanitarian gesture and thanked the foundation for its long-term aid programmes in the country.
