Orange Egypt offers USD400mn for 4G licence

(MENAFN) Orange Egypt proclaimed that Egypt's telecommunications asked to pay USD399mn for a licence in order to offer 4G mobile phone services.

Moreover, Egypt is selling the 4G licences as part of a plan to reform the country's telecoms sector and the regulator approached the three firms.

Accordingly, the country last month was planning to provide high-speed 4G licences to firms operating in Egypt.

Meanwhile, the reforms will allow Egypt's land-line monopoly Telecom Egypt to enter the mobile phone market directly.
