This choice is reflected notably in the increase of 100% over ten years of the budget for religious services, the training of Imams (religious leaders) and ulema (religious scholars) and the restructuring of traditional religious education, it said. The magazine noted that King Mohammed VI accelerated the legislative and administrative renovation of the high council for ulema which is tasked with giving fatwas (religious rulings) and interpreting sacred texts.
