Doha: Ooredoo volunteers yesterday distributed Iftar boxes to hundreds of workers at Woqod petrol stations across Doha.

The boxes contained a drink, fruits and sandwich. The volunteers from across the company, also broke their fast with the workers. The event was part of community and charity activities this Ramadan across Qatar to promote #PurestConnections with and between Ooredoo customers.

Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari, Director, Community and Public Relations, Ooredoo, said: “Giving back to those who need our help is a huge part of the spirit of Ramadan. We’re proud to have shared a meal with the workers who have helped build Qatar, and aim to continue this support to our customers not just during the Holy Month but the whole year through.”

Customers can follow Ooredoo’s Ramadan campaign via Ooredoo’s Facebook, Instagram or Twitter page and the hashtag #CloserConnection.

Meanwhile, Ooredoo volunteers visited Qatar Foundation for Elderly Care (Ihsan), to enjoy Iftar with residents supported by the foundation.

The delegation was received by a group of employees and patients. Ooredoo volunteers also spent time with some residents to learn more about their lives.

Khaled Abdullah Hussein, Director, Public and Media Relations, welcomed the volunteers on behalf of the foundation and stressed the importance of their presence and what they are doing to warm up the hearts of the elderly and put a smile on their faces during Iftar.

After breaking fast together, the delegation presented gifts to the elderly and congratulated the organisation for their work in Qatar.

The visit was part of a series of community and charity activities by Ooredoo this Ramadan at various events and locations.
