OIC welcomes partial liberation of Iraqi city of Fallujah


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) JEDDAH, June 19 (KUNA) -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed Sunday the partial liberation of the Iraqi city of Fallujah city from grip of the so-called Islamic State IS.

In a statement, OIC said achievement made by the Iraqi army represent a critical victory, including the elimination of radical members of IS and the possibility of liberating the whole city and the rest of Iraqi cities from IS.

Meanwhile, OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani asserted on the importance of such victories which unite all Iraqi factions and maintains unity of the Iraqi sovereignty.

OIC chief also affirmed on the organization full support to Iraq and its fight against criminals of IS and its goals.

Madani called on all parties involved to end the Iraqi refugee crisis and ensure their return to their respective country. (end) nh.mb
