Arab League lauds efforts to liberate Fallujah, Mosul cities

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, June 19 (KUNA) -- The Arab League lauded Sunday the Iraqi army''s efforts to liberate most of the areas in the cities of Fallujah and Mosul from the rule of the so-called Islamic State (IS).

Secretary General of the Arab League Nabil Al-Araby commended the efforts of the army and hoped that the two cities will return to Iraq''s sovereignty.

The top Arab official called on regional and international relief aid organizations to support the displaced Iraqis who fled from the iron grip of IS, affirming that such gesture will help speed up the process of bringing people back to their homes.

He called on Iraqis to take the chance and bolster efforts for national reconciliation to fend off any possible threats in the future. (end) mfm.gta
