Kuwait delivers food parcels to 400 refugees' families in Irbil


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) IRBIL, June 19 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti Consulate in Irbil distributed Sunday food parcels to some 400 refugee and displaced families in cooperation with Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS).

General Consul of Kuwait in Irbil Dr. Omar Al-Kandri told KUNA that Kuwait would not hold back any efforts needed to aid and ease the suffering of Syrian refugees and displaced Iraqis.

Kuwait delivered some 15,000 food parcels ahead of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Iraq''s Kurdistan region is taking in around two million displaced and refugees since the threat of the so-called Islamic State (IS) emerged in the area. (end) sbr.mys
