Heat wave hits Jordan, temperatures soar till Tuesday


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, June 19 (Petra) --Temperatures over the next three days are forecast to rise 5-6 degrees above their annual average, therefore it will be relatively hot in the hilly areas and hot in other parts of the Kingdom.

Hot to relatively hot conditions are expected to prevail till Tuesday as the country will remain under the impact of a hot air mass, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) daily brief said.

Winds over the next three days will be northwesterly moderate to brisk, blowing dust mainly in the eastern and southern regions, the JMD added.

Temperatures expected in the capital for today will soar to 36 degrees Celsius dropping down to 24 degrees, while mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will hit 41 degrees, plunging to 29 degrees at night.
