Iranian caught smuggling subsidized food


(MENAFN- Arab Times) An Iranian expatriate was arrested at Doha Port for attempting to smuggle rationed foodstuff to Iran. According to sources, Doha Port customs officers were inspecting boats that were bound for departure from Doha Port when they found large quantities of commodities, which are subsidized by the Kuwaiti government for citizens, in one of the boats. They arrested the Iranian expatriate who revealed that he was planning to take these items to his country. He was referred with the confiscated items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.

Meanwhile, the Farwaniya police have arrested three Indians for gambling, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, the suspects were gambling on an open ground in Khaitan and after seeing a police vehicle attempted to escape on foot. Police have seized from the men cash and gambling tools. They have been referred to the concerned authorities to prepare their deportation from the country.
