Turkish, Coalition attacks kill 13 IS militants N. Syria


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISTANBUL, June 18 (KUNA) -- The General Staff of the Republic of Turkey said Saturday the bombardment by Turkish artillery and air attacks by the USl-led Coalition against the positions of the so-called Islamic State (IS) in northern Syria killed 13 IS militants.

The joint attacks targeted 32 positions that were used by IS in attacking Turkey, according to preliminary estimates, the General Staff said in a statement posted on its website.

Besides the casualties, the attacks destroyed missile launch pads, mortar sites, fortified positions and a vehicle carrying a heavy machinegun, it added. (end) tm.gb
