UAE- Civil Defence honours students for innovating inflammable foam

ABU DHABI, 16th June, 2016 (WAM) -- The Civil Defence General Directorate at the Ministry of Interior has honoured a student team from Al Ittihad Private School, Jumeira, in a ceremony on the school premises, for inventing ''inflammable wood foam''.

Major General Jassem Muhammad Al Marzouqui, Civil Defence General Commander-in-Chief at the MoI, said that he valued the efforts of the school administration for supporting the innovative female students. He explained that the innovation represents an added value for the Civil Defence as it contributes to saving both lives and property. He also stressed the leadership''s commitment to encouraging new ideas, supporting them, and providing a suitable environment theat helps developing ideas like this in order to make the UAE a hub for innovation and innovators.

The honorees expressed their gratitude for the recognition, noting that it strongly encourages them to propose further innovative ideas and positive suggestions that contribute to saving lives, reducing environmental effects, encourages new generations to positively contribute to serving their society, and inspiring them to contribute and innovate.

The celebration was attended by Brigadier Mohamed Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Director of the Fire Prevention and Safety Affairs General Directorate, and Colonel Mohammed Abdullah Al Tikawi, Head of the Media Affairs Department.
