French envoy for Mideast in Cairo for talks on peace process

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, June 15 (KUNA) -- Discussing efforts to push ahead with the Mideast peace process will be the focus of a meeting on Thursday between visiting French special envoy for the Middle East Pierre Vimont and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri.

Virmont, who arrived in Cairo on Wednesday, is also set to meet Secretary General of the Arab League Nabil Al-Arabi so as to deal with the efforts to promote the French peace initiative.

The French capital, Paris, hosted this month a Mideast peace conference in a bid to revive the peace efforts as a preparatory step for holding an international conference by the end of this year, with the participation of Palestinians and Israelis officials. (end) rgh.hm
