Egypt's Hana Moataz wins Grand Sport Armenia 1st Challenger 5 2016

Egyptian female squash player Hana Moataz won the Grand Sport Armenia 1st Challenger 5 2016, celebrated in the Armenian capital of Yerevan.

The tournament, which offered prize money amounting to $5,000, featured only female players.

In the first round, Moataz won against Czech Zuzana Kubanova, with scores of 12-10, 11-5, 7-11, 11-9, and a final score of 3-1.

She qualified for the semifinals after defeating Russia''s Ekaterina Marusan in the quarterfinals, with scores of 11-1, 11-6, 11-2, and a final score of 3-0.

In the semifinals, Moataz beat France''s Enora Villard, with scores of 11-9, 11-6, 8-11, 11-3, and a final score of 3-1.

In the final match, she won against Dutch player Milou Van Der Heijden, with scores of 12-10, 7-11, 11-9, 12-10, and a final score of 3-1.

Moataz is not the only Egyptian champion to stand out in Armenia as her male compatriot Mazen Gamal won the Grand Sport Armenia 2nd Challenger 5 2016, which was also held in Yerevan.

In the Grand Sport Armenia 2nd Challenger 5 2016’s first round, Gamal defeated Guatemala’s Antonio De La Torre, with scores of 11-4, 11-4, 11-8, and a final score of 3-0.

Gamal won against France’s Vincent Droesbeke in the quarter finals, with scores 9-11, 11-6, 11-5, 11-5, and a final score of 3-1.

After defeating Finnish Jakkoo Vahamaa in the semifinals, with scores of 13-11, 11-2, 7-11, 11-8, and a final score of 3-1, Gamal met English Nathan Lake in the final.

The victory went to Gamal with the scores of 11-8, 11-13, 12-10, 11-6, and a final score was 3-1.

This is Gamal''s second consecutive victory as he won the same championship last year after also beating Lake in the final, with the scores of 11-9, 11-6, 11-6, and a final score of 3-0.
