Turkey's listed automobiles hit 1/4th of total citizens


(MENAFN) The number of registered vehicles on Turkey's roads jumped 0.5 percent in April to more than 20.2 million, around one-fourth of the nation's overall population.

A total of 106,986 new and old vehicles were registered in April, and in the first five months of the year, a total of 350,893 vehicles were registered by the authorities.

In terms of the distribution of model brands for new registered cars in April, Renault logged 18.1pct, VW 12.1pct, Hyundai 6.6pct, Fiat 6.4pct and Opel 6.3 percent, among others.

Basically, cars represented 53.2pct of new vehicles, small trucks 16.3pct, motorcycles 14.9 percent, tractors 8.5 percent, trucks 4 percent and minibuses 2.2 percent.
