Documentary Shares Heroic Story Of Anna Hedwig Bull


(MENAFNEditorial) Tallinn, Estonia – June 9, 2016 –Filmmakers of the Anna Hedwig Büll documentary launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise awareness and ask for community support. The film shares the life, love, and her heroic sacrifice to save thousands of lives. The goal is to raise Fr 35,000 by July 19, 2016.Funds raised will be used for the film’s post-production process.

Anna Hedwig Büllwas born in 1887 to a family of Baltic Germans from Haapsalu, Estonia. She’s not widely known in her native country. However, her heroic deeds are recognized throughout the country of Syria. As a Christian missionary, from 1908 to 1953, Hedwig saved thousands of orphans and widows from imminent death, who were victims of the Armenian genocide carried out in the Ottoman Empire. Her dedicated efforts helped open schools for the orphans, orphanages and hospitals. She built houses and established workshops to provide people with housing facilities and jobs. Hedwig remained active in charitable endeavors assisting Armenian refugees throughout her life.

The film’s purpose is to help audiences around the world discover the life of a fearless woman during a time of war and catastrophe. It’s to demonstrate her understanding of how people should act and what should be done when facing adversities that are crimes against humanity. Hedwig did what she considered as the “right thing” and therein lies her exceptional strength and courage.
