UAE- Policewomen to patrol roads of Al Qusais

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Al Qusais police station has launched new police patrols that include policewomen. The female officers will intervene in cases involving women and children, or in family matters, particularly those relating to elderly people.

Major-General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, praised the step, and stressed that preventive measures and intensifying police patrols are in line with the expansion of the area. Security programmes such as these have led to a reduction in crime in the area, he added.

The police station limits saw 14 traffic accidents this year, including six hit and run accidents.

Al Mazeina stressed the importance of organising traffic awareness campaigns to educate workers about the danger of crossing roads from non-designated areas.
