Uber adds Ghana to its trophies shelf

(MENAFN) Uber, the U.S.-based multinational online transportation network company, has announced its entry into the Ghanaian market, as revealed by the latest reports.

On its website, the California-based taxi-hailing company declared that it had arrived in Ghana's most economically vibrant hub, which is its capital and largest city, Accra.

Consequently, this makes the West African Republic the fifth sub-Saharan African country that the American firm has entered and the 467th city to receive the service globally.

"Accra continues to be a place where businesses are born, and with over 4mn people using the streets of the city, there is a clear demand for Uber's services," said a company official.
