S. Korea's revenue jumps 23 percent


(MENAFN) S. Korea's tax revenue jumped greatly from a year earlier in the Jan-April period on an increase in corporate and income taxes that will reflect a rise in consumption.

In the cited period, the government collected a USD 83.2bn in taxes, up 23 percent, or USD 0.015bn, from the same period of last year.

Moreover, corporate tax gained USD 0.004bn from a year earlier to USD 0.02bn in the cited period of the recent year, while the income from value-added taxes touched USD 0.025bn.

Accordingly, consumer spending expanded 2.1 percent on-year in the first quarter, following a 3.3 percent hike in the previous quarter.
